hop over to this web-site Make sure you mark your calendar for next weekend, July 20, 2014. It’s Ukulele Festival Hawaii at Kapiolani Park in Honolulu. The fun starts at 11:00 a.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m. with ukulele give-aways and lessons plus ukulele displays and food booths.
Guest musicians such as Jake Shimabukuro, Willie K, Raiatea Helm, Herb Ohta, Jr., and many more from around the world will showcase their talent and provide inspiration.
If you don’t have an instrument yet you can buy ukuleles at several shops in Honolulu. There’s a really nice shop on the lobby level of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel on the Kalakaua Avenue side. Then, you can take free ukulele lessons at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10:00 a.m courtesy of Bob’s Ukulele in Shop space #A206 . It’s also a great way to make new friends!
The park is located just on the zoo end of Waikiki, across from the Waikiki Aquarium. That’s just a short walk from any hotel in Waikiki or a quick bus ride. If driving, you can park for free at Kapiolani Community College on Diamond Head road in Honolulu and use the free shuttle if you don’t find a meter free around the park.
